Sergiy Lebedynskyy

Сергій Лебединський

Sergiy Lebedynskyy (1982, Kharkiv, Ukraine) — photographer, curator. As many other Kharkiv authors, he has an engineering education: in 1994-2004 studied at Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University, in 2005-2012 worked as scientist at Brandenburg University of Technology, Cottbus, Germany, where he defended his PhD thesis in 2013. Has been engaged in photography since 2007.  Co-founded of a photographic group Shilo in 2010  together with Vladyslav Krasnoshchok, Vadim Trykoz and Oleksiy Sobolev. Curates photographic exhibitions and collects works of Ukrainian and East-European photography artists since 2017. His collection became the core of the Museum of Kharkiv School of Photography (MOKSOP) founded in 2018.  The artist’s manner is defined by the fusion of documentality and variety of technological manipulations and performativity. Resides in Germany.
